Condition Monitoring

Condition Monitoring (CM) provides valuable, proactive information, helping equipment owners set up effective, comprehensive maintenance and repair plans. Analysing data from a combination of Condition Monitoring “elements” – including machine inspections and regular fluid analysis to careful tracking of electronic data and analysis of equipment history – helps to accurately assess the health and operating condition of your equipment fleet.

S·O·S SM Fluid Analysis gives you detailed information about oil and coolant conditions, component wear, and more. HAYTRAC S·O·S Fluid analysts know Cat® equipment inside and out, making us your best, most knowledgeable source for fluid analysis.

Inspections are easy and effective at helping you spot equipment health issues. We can train your people on what to look for or perform the inspections for you as part of a Condition Monitoring Agreement.

Regular equipment inspections can help:

  • Create sustainable value for customers through better uptime and lower operating costs.
  • Quickly, easily and cost-effectively identify potential equipment and safety issues.
  • Uncover overlooked problems.
  • Provide information that allows for proactive scheduling of maintenance and repairs at your convenience

Types of Inspections:

Technical Analysis 1:

  • Comprehensive walk around inspection, plus Cat® ET download.

Technical Analysis 2:

  • Technical Inspections of the hydraulic system and visual checks for leaks and damage. All hydraulic cylinders undergo a drift test, and cycle times, relief valve settings, pump flow and steering times verifications are performed by seasoned HAYTRAC service technicians annually or when required.
  • CTS (Custom Track Service): Assessment of the wear of individual undercarriage components with repair recommendations to minimize cost and maximize undercarriage life.
  • CHS (Custom Hydraulic Service): Technical inspections of the hydraulic system and visual checks for leaks and damage. All hydraulic cylinders undergo a drift test, and cycle times, relief valve settings, pump flow and steering times are all verified.

Fluid Analysis is a key component to maintaining the health of your equipment. Unplanned repairs, early replacement and costly downtime must be avoided. Implementing Caterpillar’s SOS Services into your Condition Monitoring Plan will:

  • Drive down costs
  • Limit down time
  • Improve productivity

HAYTRAC offer the Cat SOS Fluid Analysis products that are needed for accurate sampling of your Cat equipment.

Regular fluid sampling and analysis through S.O.S. gives you detailed information about oil, coolant, hydraulic oil and fuel condition, as well as component wear and more. It can detect excessive wear in a component, presence of dirt or water, contamination in the fuel or coolant, viscosity in the oil or oxidation and sulphate levels. Cat S.O.S. fluid analysts know Cat equipment inside and out, making it the best, most knowledgeable source for sophisticated fluid analysis. An S.O.S. can help prevent a failure or quickly determine the cause of a failure in the components of your equipment.

Analysis Equipment History

Equipment History includes all the service reports and recommendations for maintenance, inspections and repairs. This helps spot long-term performance trends and identifies opportunities to enhance service and maintenance practices.

Understanding the history of your equipment and the lifecycle of key components can lower operating costs and improve uptime. Allow Haytrac to track your Equipment History, including service reports, past maintenance recommendations, inspection results, repair and warranty records and other information that can help you identify and avoid recurring problems and optimize assets and component life.

Electronic Equipment Information collects data using “smart machine” technologies, such as wirelessly transmitted Product Link and manually downloaded VIMSTM data.
Electronic DataElectronic equipment data is the information that comes from the machine itself. It may be live data received by an on site computer or it may be logged information downloaded from the equipment’s on-board Electronic Control Modules (ECMs). Equipment information is essential in helping customers reduce engine and machine downtime, control costs, schedule repairs more efficiently and optimize productivity.
